Jay-Z To Play at Charity Event on 9/11 in Madison Square Garden
Superstar Jay-Z plans to play a charity gig on 9/11 in Madison Square Garden. To honor the tragic day's eighth anniversary, the rapper will perform the gig on the day that thousands were killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, will headline the concert on the day his new album The Blueprint 3 is released. Money raised from the concert will reportedly go to the New York Police, Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund. The 39-year-old's new single, Run This Town, featuring Rihanna and Kanye West features on the album. Others who collaborate with Jay on Blueprint 3 include Drake, Kid Cudi and Alicia Keys. Ticket details have not yet been released but it is reported that some artists on the album will make an appearance. Two new tracks from his album have recently been leaked on to the internet this week, both of which are produced by Timbaland.
