Working her way up

Believe it or not, Jennifer Aniston wasn't always as rich as she is now. Many actors and actresses came from little, and they often feel the need to remind the public. Jennifer Aniston recently talked about how little she came from.

Jennifer Aniston claims, "I made my allowance as a kid cleaning toilets. I'm actually pretty good at it... I struggled for a while, but I was happy with my life whether I was making this amount of money, or that amount of money. I always enjoyed where I was working."

This confuses us slightly since Jen's father has been an actor on soap operas for a long time (he's still playing Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives), but maybe he hadn't gotten his start when Jennifer Aniston was still a kid. Or maybe he just made her work hard for her allowance!

Jen seems like she actually appreciates all the jobs she's had and that they helped to get her where she is today. She says, "I loved being a waitress. OK, I didn't like time-share selling, I hated that job. But people used to say to me, 'You need to focus on having ambition'. And I guess sort of following that advice allowed a lot to come to me."

It's estimated that Jennifer Aniston earned $25 million in 2008, but she swears she's not any different as a person: There's just been a great ease with that evolvement in my life to being an actress. I didn't change that much, but my bank account changed."

We do love Jennifer Aniston and have to give her even more credit if her childood really was as tough as she says it was.
