Jeremy Renner, Carey Mulligan Get Flirty After Oscars
As Renner advertises, "I'm single -- and looking."
Oscar nominee for An Education Carey Mulligan may be in a relationship with Shia LaBouf, but Oscar-bash photos in a British publication make it clear that her options are open. Mulligan turned super-touchy when Jeremy Renner stopped to say hi at Vanity Fair's Oscar afterparty, and witnesses say it's clear there were sparks.
The press speculated last week when Shia LaBouf accompanied Mulligan to JFK airport in New York City that he'd be walking the red carpet with her Sunday night. Reporters got a surprise, then, when Mulligan turned up with her mom on her arm. Was there a riff between her and LaBouf?
Meanwhile fellow nominee Jeremy Renner had his mom as his date as well, leaving him free to mingle among the many single ladies at Oscar post-parties. It appears that was his plan, as he and Carey Mulligan were snapped by paps touching and laughing multiple times. In one shot, Mulligan and Renner and grasping the inside of each other's wrists -- a sacred androgynous zone in some Eastern cultures -- and sharing an exchange full of eye contact.
It's reported that Jeremy Renner stopped at Carey Mulligan's seat inside the Kodak Theatre where the Oscar ceremony was held. Then at the Vanity Fair party while Mulligan chatted with Kathryn Bigelow, Renner is the one who reportedly "leaned in to join the conversation."
Renner was spotted flirting with Jessica Simpson last week (is she more buttoned-up these days? Looks waaay better) and has been single since splitting from his girlfriend while filming The Hurt Locker in Jordan two years ago. He told reporters Sunday night, "I'm single -- and looking. I'm not a ladies man -- I'm a working man, that's all."
