Jersey Shore Cast Demanding Salary Increase
Are they worth it?
Sure the Jersey Shore cast had an amazingly awesome first season, but can they do it again in season 2? They're asking for a salary ten times as much as they made for the first season. It sounds like they're getting just a little bit greedy.
If the Jersey Shore cast keeps up these antics, we just might see a whole new cast of guidos and guidettes come season 2 of the Jersey Shore. After all, the show was entertaining, but it doesn't really take much talent to get drunk, hook up, and party non-stop for a couple months straight. Not to mention, can these kids really do it all over again and keep us entertained in season 2?
They seem to think they can because the Jersey Shore cast is demanding $10,000 an episode from MTV. In the first season, they made only a couple hundred per episode, but now they clearly think they deserve more. And while they probably do deserve a higher salary, isn't $10,000/episode pretty lofty?
According to a source, "They want $10,000 an episode, arguing that the stars
from The Hills get $100,000 per episode and that show doesn't even rate as high. They're hanging together like the cast of Friends and saying if they don't all get the pay increase, none of them will return." However, it seems that Jersey Shore is more of a fad, while The Hills actually had staying power (at least for a little while).
Will MTV really be all that upset if they don't return? It might be kind of fun to see a whole new cast. After all, how much more trouble can these kids get into? Not to mention, I'm sure this won't be the last we'll be seeing of the kids from season 1. They're already making lots of money from television appearances and at least a couple of them are likely to land reality shows or something of that nature. I'm sure Snooki and The Situation will not be disappearing any time soon.
