Jessica Alba's Not a Fan of Marriage
The concept, that is.
Jessica Alba recently talked about marriage, and what she thinks about it in today's world, especially in Hollywood. Her conclusion? We're going after the wrong goals when we get hitched. This is definitely one of the more interesting interviews from Alba we've read in a while.
When asked about her marriage to Cash Warren, Jessica Alba said that she had difficulty agreeing to it because of the "warped" idea of what marriage should be like today.
"Originally it was two families coming together to make a stronger family. It was about survival - not love or soulmates. And now, the way they market marriage - even as a kid through Disney movies - is that it's all about Prince Charming sweeping you off your feet," she said.
"There's this mentality that you need the big dress and the big day - the day every girl gets to be a princess. I didn't agree with any of that."
If there's one thing that Jessica Alba is, it's down-to-earth. She might give some spectacularly bad interviews from time to time, but at least she knows what she wants. The 28-year-old actress explained her choice to get married to Cash Warren, saying, "I chose to get married because, essentially, you're given a deck of cards in life... the one person you can choose to bring into your life as your family and to have that unconditional love with is your husband or wife."
While Jessica mostly talked about marriage in Cosmo's March issue, she also managed to address recent rumors about Lindsay Lohan and Cash Warren, dismissing them as nonsense. Jessica didn't just call the rumors "ridiculous," but also said that "She's really nice. We hang out and chat for hours about girl stuff."
Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan hanging out is weird to think about, but I think it's noble for Alba to connect herself to someone who is constantly portrayed as majorly crazy. Points for Jess!
