Is she trying to follow in the steps of her boyfriend?

People tend to either love or hate Jessica Biel. Lots of people admit that she's a beautiful girl but that they don't like her as an actress. And lots of people wonder how she managed to land her boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. Now, many will be wondering why she's trying to sing.

While filming her upcoming film, Easy Virtue, director Stephan Elliott heard Jessica Biel humming and liked how she sounded. He asked her to try singing "Mad About the Boy" and liked that too. So now, Jessica Biel is singing on the big-screen. We're not so sure we like it as much as Elliott did, but as long as she doesn't try releasing an album any time soon, we're not going to complain too much.

Jessica has said, "I know nobody really knows this about me, but I really started in musical theater doing Annie and The Sound of Music. I wanted to be Whitney Houston. That was my dream." Jessica Biel compared to Whitney Houston? We don't think so. Jessica didn't let Justin partake in the recording of her song and says, "I was totally embarrassed. I didn't want him to have any part of it. I was sort of doing it on my own."

Jessica will also be singing a song in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Guys and Dolls. She says, "I literally walked in and said, 'I can do this song but we're going to have to drop it down a few notes.' Actually, I did pretty well and I got the part of Sandy, which I'll be performing later this summer."

We just hope Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake don't start dueting any time soon. No, Justin, don't do it!
