Joey Lawrence, Melissa Joan Hart Sitcom Combines 'Who's the Boss' and 'Friends'

"Melissa & Joey" premieres Tuesday night.

"Dancing With the Stars" and child acting graduates Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence are set to star together in the new ABC Family sitcom "Melissa & Joey"...but what exactly can we expect from the show? The former teen stars have teamed up for a project that's said to be in the tradition of two of the most famous sitcoms of all time! Joey Lawrence is dishing on his new gig, and we have the revelations right here.

In the early 1990s we all came to know (and crush on) Joey Lawrence as the air-headed, girl-crazy older brother of Blossom, Joey Russo. Today Joey Lawrence is a 34-year-old husband and father who has recorded music CDs that have sold millions of copies, and he's also starred on "Dancing With the Stars." Joey Lawrence is one of the few former child actors who has remained relevant (and hot!) and he's revealing why he thinks his audience will love "Melissa & Joey".

Joey Lawrence says this about his working relationship with Melissa Joan Hart: "We've known each other for awhile, but not known known, you know? We did the TV movie 'My Fake Fiance' a few years ago and that's when I really got to be friends with her. It was such a hit and the network told us they wanted to develop something further with us. I'm very excited to do this, and I'm recording the theme song too."

Of the theme song, Joey Lawrence says, "It's called 'Stuck with Me.' It reminds of me of the theme of 'Friends.'"

"Melissa & Joey" is based on a female politican who's single, who's suddenly placed in charge of her niece and nephew. When the responsibility becomes to much, she hires a recently divorced "manny" -- a male nanny -- played by Joey Lawrence. It's expected that their relationship will strike a "Who's the Boss"-style, are-they-or-aren't-they-platonic chord that a lot of us will find familiar from the sitcom plotlines we remember from our childhood.
