John Mayer Mystery Illness Leads To Tour Cancellation
John Mayer cuts European tour to recover.
John Mayer canceled a show in Copenhagen Monday night when he was struck with an illness whose details are "undisclosed." Mayer's succedding shows in the U.K. and throughout Europe have been canceled as well, and Mayer's Web site is cryptically addressing his illness.
John Mayer's Web site featued the following post on Tuesday, June 1:
"After a sold-out performance in Copenhagen, John Mayer was forced to cancel his second show there on 5/31 due to illness. Regrettably, the illness has caused his remaining European shows scheduled through this week to be canceled as well (Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester). Ticket holders should apply for refund from point of purchase. Mayer is returning home to the States and a full recovery is expected under a doctor's supervision."
Mayer had already played roughly eight shows in Portugal, Wales, the Netherlands, Denmark and England and had four shows left on his tour in Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester, England. Most of the shows had already been sold out, and it's not clear whether the canceled John Mayer shows will be rescheduled.
It's possible that all of Mayer's touring simply led to being overworked and exhausted or that he contracted something on the road. Mayer has been touring with very few breaks for well over a year across the U.S., Great Britain & Europe and Asia.
Stay with LimeLife for more specifics on John Mayer's illness (we can be pretty sure it won't lead to this). Meanwhile Mayer pal (galpal?) Taylor Swift is in the news for her mega-intense 13-hour meet-and-greet with fans. Taylor Swift in the flesh? You bet!
