TMZ just saved a bunch of puppies! The tenacious agency made a bet with John Mayer that they could find his mugshot from 2001, and they did it yesterday. His arrest for driving with a suspended license comes back to haunt him, but the TMZ challenge means that a charitable organization will be very happy!

The day started out with a TMZ post explaining: "John Mayer posted a challenge on his Twitter page, offering to give $25,000 to the charity of TMZ's choice (an animal charity) if we could produce his mug shot. We've searched all over the place, and we can't find squat. We've even followed up on a lead that the shot was hidden somewhere in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. Still, nothing."

One hour later, TMZ told John Mayer to "Warm up that checkbook...." because they had discovered the date and place of his arrest. BAM! We got a yellowy mug shot of John looking pretty clean-cut. Good job saving the puppes, TMZ!
