Poll results are in; Up with curves.

Everyone who made New Year's resolutions to lose weight and look like a stick may want to reconsider. A new poll shows that more women are admiring, and desiring, the curvaceous bodies of stars like Kate Winslet and Kelly Brook.

In the study, 2000 British women, aged 18 and older, were asked about which celebrity bodies they most admired. Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet had the most admired figure, catching 16 percent of the vote. British model and television host Kelly Brrok was second with 15 percent, and actress Halle Berry was third with 12 percent.

Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the study is the apparent rise of the full-figured female body. Stars with famous curves, like Brooke, Berry and Beyonce (six percent of the vote) finished at the top, while slimmer ladies like Kate Moss and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham were at the bottom with just one percent each.

So will 2010 finally be the year of healthy figures?

"It shows a positive shift that women are more likely to see Kate Winslet and Kelly Brook as the ideal body shape rather than Kate Moss or Victoria Beckham," says Dr. Jacquie Lavin, head of nutrition at Slimming World, which commissioned the poll.

Still, not all was good news. The study also showed that a whopping 85% of women are still occasionally unhappy with their bodies.

Here's a complete list of the top ten most desirable celebrity bodies, along with their percentage of the vote:

1. Kate Winslet - 16%
2. Kelly Brook - 15%
3. Halle Berry - 12%
4. Cheryl Cole - 10%
5. Beyonce - 6%
6. Megan Fox - 5%
7. Lily Allen - 4%

Well that is a good trend. It means that people are finally able to differentiate between true beauty (aka, voluptuous, plus-sized women) and the "anorexic" beauties. This would indeed have a positive effect on girls as well as they would no longer starve in order to look like a thin stick. All in all, I see this as a positive, welcome and healthy change in the public mindset. :) About Me
