Kate Gosselin Ditches the Extensions

Bye, bye long blonde locks!

Kate Gosselin's saying good-bye to her blonde extensions now that she's going to be competing on Dancing with the Stars... sort of. Kate's stylist, Ted Gibson, said he's taking them out just for a day while he gets ready to add ones that she'll wear throughout the show.

The $7,000 extensions are being updated, says Ted, and the next set will be worn by Kate throughout the competition.

Always one to brag about his extension magic, Ted talked to Radar Online about the hairy new additions.

"She'll have a new hairdo tomorrow because we're taking them out and we're not putting them back in until Thursday. So she'll have short hair for a day," he admitted.

He's going to create a look that combines several different colors this time, hopefully without the disastrous mullet outline that we witnessed before Kate's last extentions were trimmed.

"We're actually doing three different shades of blonde, a caramel, a beige blond and a little bit of a lighter blonde,"he described.

"The extensions will last through the whole time she's on the show. We'll be doing color, we'll be doing extensions, we'll be getting her ready for her premiere on Dancing With the Stars!"

As for Kate's chances on DWTS? Ted admitted that Kate Gosselin might not think of herself as a dancer, but she's dedicated to having a "good time." Of course, being excited to be on the show definitely helps, and Kate is said to be "thrilled beyond belief."

I'm scared for her. Her last extensions were such a nightmare. Maybe they'll get it this time.
