Kate Gosselin Jealous Over TLC's New Sextuplet Family?
Is this network big enough for both families?
We reported late this week that TLC had signed on another family of sextuplets for a fall series...and the first thing we thought was, "What does Kate Gosselin think?" Gosselin prides herself on being the mega-mom of the most famous brood in America. Plus, Kate Gosselin isn't someone known for loving to share the spotlight. What was TLC thinking?
The Carpio family have reportedly been contracted to star in eight episodes of "Sextuplets Take New York," with the first premiering on September 14. Victor and Digna Carpio have six near-two-year-olds and a nine-year-old son, and the show will document their hectic lives living in New York City.
While Kate Gosselin's staying mum about TLC's decision to add the Carpios to their fall schedule (her blog was focused solely on Gosselin goings-on at Friday's press time), we're wondering whether she's angry that TLC is trying to highlight another East Coast family. Next week TLC will air the "Kate Plus 8" episode where the Gosselins invade New York...and now the country's biggest city may be completely off-limits to the Gosselets with the Carpios being natives there!

We're wondering if TLC is trying to reach a wider demographic with this show. "Sextuplets Take New York" is set in the Carpios' home in Queens, which will give viewers an inside look at genuine urban life, in contrast to the secluded Suburbia in which the Gosselins live. Plus, Huffington Post reports that the Carpios are billed as the first set of Hispanic sextuplets born in the United States...so indeed TLC is working harder to satisfy the viewing desires of all Americans.
