We reported Wednesday that Kate Gosselin had ripped out her $7,000 extensions. Gosselin stepped out in New York City Wednesday night with her Dancing With the Stars partner Tony Dovolani after a whopping seven hours in the stylist's seat...and we have a slideshow of her new look.

We can assure you that this style is much more of a bargain than the $7,000 hair extensions that Kate Gosselin got early this year -- in fact we called the Ted Gibson salon in New York City's East Village where Kate went, and here's the breakdown of prices they gave us:

extension removal: $200-300

cut: $95-135

color: single process starts at $110, but color can go up to $250.

So for Kate Gosselin, we're looking at a roughly $600 hairdo. Was it worth it?
