Perry sees the advantage in an international husband.

Katy Perry loves England! If you've ever dated a British beau you understand the inherent lust for Anglo culture that goes with it. Katy Perry can't wait to get married so that she can run and apply for English citizenship immediately...and, oh yeah, because she loves Russell Brand.

This past week Katy Perry tweeted, "LONDON!" as she headed for English soil to visit her English comedian fiance Russell Brand and make publicity appearances. The pair will marry in a lavish ceremony in October, and Perry says that as soon as the honeymoon's over, her first task will be to pursue U.K. citizenship.

Says Perry, "When I get married next month, one of the first things I'll do is apply for dual citizenship ... I'm not too sure if I have to take a test as I've not had time to look into it. But England is like my second home."

Katy Perry appeared on a U.K. chat show earlier this week, joking that another reason why she wants to become half-English is so that strict British customs will allow her into the country without putting her through all the lengthy paperwork every time she enters the U.K.

It's said Perry gets along swimmingly with Russell Brand's family -- "Katy has become close to Russell's mum. She adores Barbara. They're in constant contact and speak on the phone most days," says a friend. "Barbara has introduced her to the U.K. way of life, hoping Katy won't feel homesick when she's over here."
