Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly Battle for Earth
Limited and unlimited possibilities at the movies this weekend.
Going wide this weekend is Keanu Reeves who plays an alien invader in a remake of the 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still. Jennifer Connelly, Will Smith spawn, Jaden Smith, and hottie Jon Hamm co-star in this sci-fi thriller. We're thinking we could get more bang for our buck with an episode of Fringe, but don't let our saucer steer you in the wrong direction.
Moving towards home is the Rodriguez family who converge on their parents Chicago house for the holidays. This large-scale reunion is accompanied by shocking revelations, bubbling tensions, and newfound crises, proving, once again, there's Nothing Like the Holidays.
Opening in limited release this weekend are a few character-driven, Oscar-desirous flicks. Clint Eastwood stars as a pissed off veteran fed-up with his gang-infested neighborhood in Gran Torino. Amy Adams and Meryl Streep bring the hit Broadway play Doubt - about priest's possible crimes - to the big screen. Kate Winslet plays Hanna, a troubled woman in post-World War II Germany who sleeps with 15-year-olds and finds herself on trial for war crimes in The Reader.
