Dancing With the Stars dazzler tells Ellen DeGeneres that fame almost ruined her

Kelly Osbourne stunned America last night with her Dancing With the Stars debut, but she holds a secret past that she's only now revealing.

Kelly appeared on Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week, opening up about the drug addiction and body image issues that plagued her teenage years. By the age of 13 she was experimenting with drugs, and when The Osbournes reality show debuted on MTV in the early 2000s, it brought on a frightening dependency on substances.

Kelly told Ellen, "By the time we started doing 'The Osbournes' I really was a full-blown drug addict...It was at a time in my life where suddenly I was famous, my mom had cancer, my dad almost died in a bike accident, so I was going between a hospital in London and a hospital in L.A."

But something else shamed her deeply: her body. "I'd open magazines and it would be like, 'The fat daughter of Ozzy Osbourne' ... People would drive past our house ... and scream, 'You're fat and ugly, we hate you!' And it would be, like, consistently every Friday and Saturday night. It was a lot for me to handle and I didn't handle it very well."

Fortunately these days she's handling herself just fine. She was one of last night's top scorers on Dancing With the Stars, jolting mom Sharon Osbourne into tears and getting a standing ovation from the crowd. "Who would have thought Kelly Osbourne could turn into a lady?" she said. Actually Kelly, we probably could have guessed. We hope she's ready for the fame that's sure to happen for her this season.
