Kenzo and Erin Wasson Throw It All Away
Well, not so much "throw" as "sell."
Have you been itchin' to do some spring cleaning? You're not alone. Everyone's getting in on the action. And I mean everyone.
Yves Saint Laurent and Gianni Versace had some good luck auctioning off their wares, so designer Kenzo decided to follow their lead. The contents of his Parisian apartment are estimated to net $2.04 to $2.73 million for his collection of Asian art, furniture, and antique kimonos on sale June 16 and 17.
How many kimonos does he have?
Also looking to make a buck is model Erin Wasson. No fancy auctions for her, though. She of the long legs decided to throw a good old fashioned garage sale.
"If I'm working all day and I have a dinner or something, I'll go from jeans and T-shirt to maybe a simple black dress. Same heels. Same hair and makeup. I really like the idea of being utilitarian. My dream is to edit down my wardrobe and be very Japanese, where you have one rolling rack and it's like your four T-shirts, your five dresses, your two pairs of jeans. That's so not the case right now. I have so much crap in my closets. I love the idea of being super edited."
Sweet. Now hand over the Balenciaga.
