Brandon Flowers blasts off.

The Killers have released a new video, directed by Ray Tintori (of MGMT video fame), for their single "Spaceman" from the Day & Age album and it's a little... well... all over the place. You can check it out below, but my general thoughts are:

  • - Brandon looks a little... constricted by his football padding, feathers, and odd pillowed cod-piece.
  • - The backup dancers are very So You Think You Can Dance.
  • - The entire thing feels like an elaborate set piece developed by a mega-corporation, but set up at Burning Man to entice them to buy a really sugary energy drink.

But then the song itself isn't exactly my favorite thing the band has ever done. I know their whole thing is a rip on new wave bands from the '80s (except for the failed rip on The Boss from the last album), but the homage to Bowie is a little forced here.

What do you think?
