Kristen Stewart Couldn't Relate to the Other Kids
Kristen Stewart didn't fit in with the other kids at school growing up. Well, obviously she didn't. She was destined for great things and they probably didn't understand her! Now they're probably kicking themselves for not being nicer to her.
Growing up must have been tough for Twilight star Kristen Stewart though. She actually ended up leaving school at the age of 14 to be home schooled, because she just couldn't relate to the other kids. Kristen says, "I was glad to leave school. I couldn't relate to kids my own age. They are mean and don't give you any chance."
Judging from how we see Kristen now, we bet she was pretty shy and quiet and definitely not a girly girl. She says, "When I was there, I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn't get a whole lot of hassle, until someone found out, until someone saw some old movie and realized. I was trying to play it down." Sometimes it's worse to play your talent down! Then kids think you think you're super special.
Kristen says she's always felt older than she actually was, too. "I felt I should have been an adult at the age of five. And I thought I was an adult when I was 12. I wasn't like a warrior, but I have never been that kid who doesn't care a fig about anything. It's just the way I've been brought up." We can definitely see that. She's still only 19 years old, but in some ways, acts a lot older.
Doesn't it seem like a lot of stars didn't get along with their peers in grade school? We bet Kristen Stewart's old classmates wish they had been nicer now! Maybe she could have put them in contact with her Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
