L.L. Bean Launches Stylish Signature Collection

L.L. Bean is cool again?

What do you think of when you think of L.L. Bean? I'm guessing words like outdoorsy and athletic come to mind. It's never been much of a brand for super stylish ladies and non-outdoorsy men. But things could now be changing with L.L. Bean's new Signature collection.

It's L.L. Bean's 100th anniversary and in celebration, they're trying out a little something new. A new Signature collection that's going to offer a more stylish, fashionable look. A stylish L.L. Bean? Yes, please!

The company's creative director told StyleList, "It's an evolution, not a revolution... There's no outrageous idea... Part of the concept was to cherry-pick from [L.L. Bean's] history, pull things forward, and replicate things that have relevance for today." Sounds good to us. This means we can wear L.L. Bean apparel out to dinner and to the office, and not just while hiking in the woods.

It looks a lot more preppy J-Crew than it does "let's go camping." We have a feeling this means lots more younger people will start turning to the brand, which is going to be awesome for L.L. Bean. We love a company that can recognize when it needs a change and then implement it in a successful, thoughtful manner. We might even be converting into L.L. Bean fans!
