Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber Win Big at MTV EMAs

No surprises!

It looks like Europeans have the same taste in music that we do here in the United States. In fact their MTV music awards show could have easily been confused with ours. The big winners? Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, of course!

The MTV EMAs show took place in Madrid, Spain, but it just as easily could have been New York City or L.A. When it came to the night's big winners, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were definitely at the top of the pack.

Lady Gaga took home awards for Best Female Artist, Best Song ("Bad Romance"), and Best Pop Act. Unfortunately, there were no Gaga sightings at the show since she was otherwise tied up. But she did thank her Little Monsters over satellite message.

Of course, Justin Bieber took home a couple awards, too. He took home Best Male Artist and Best Push Artist. Justin was busy managing EMA twitter streams, so he couldn't be at the show either. But he too thanked everyone through satellite.

Surprisingly (at least to me!), Ke$ha ended up beating Justin Bieber in the Best New Act category. And not surprisingly, Katy Perry won the award for Best New Video for "California Gurls."

The EMAs were hosted by the lovely Eva Longoria who dressed as a giant ham at one point. Why? Well, she had to out-do Lady Gaga's meat dress, of course!
