But what will she wear?

Love or hate Lady Gaga's style, she's always the talk of the fashion world. And this year, she's receiving a very special honor: the Style Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Go, Gaga, go!

Last night, CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg announced the list of nominations and honorees for the annual industry awards. And according to the AP Press, Lady Gaga was announced as the honoree for the Style Icon Award. Not very surprising, considering we're always marveling at Gaga's fashion sense. The awards will take place on June 6, and I'm counting down the days... Mostly just to see what Lady Gaga is wearing!

It was also announced that Marc Jacobs will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. A bit funny considering Jacobs is only in his late 40s. According to von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs has already asked that it be re-named the "half-lifetime award," to which Diane responded, "I told him that I'm much older than him and I'm still kicking."

The remaining announcements were in the form of nominations and there are some exciting ones this year. One of the most anticipated categories will likely be Womenswear for Emerging Talent, considering the nominations include the Olsen twins for their collection The Row, Prabal Gurung, and Joseph Altuzarra. All amazing contenders!

Furstenberg also announced that details are being arranged for an online auction to raise money for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster. It's always great to see the fashion industry get involved in important causes.

Do you agree with giving Lady Gaga the Style Icon Award? or do you think her style is a mess and someone else is much more deserving of the award?
