Lanvin to Design Children's Clothing Line
Must wear a bib
I don't yet have the finances to dream about wearing Lanvin. Unless it's Lanvin for H&M. But soon, kids all over the world will be running around in adorable little Lanvin outfits. Life isn't fair, is it? But at least Lanvin is doing its part to make the world a cuter place.

That's right. Coming this November, luxury fashion designer Lanvin will be launching a children's line, consisting of 25 pieces perfect for kids age 4-10. We don't yet have any price points on the pieces, but we're hearing they won't be cheap. And a 5-year-old in a beautiful Lanvin frock? That could spell disaster. Let's hope these pieces include stain-guard!
How are we speculating about the price? Well, first of all, it's Lanvin. Second of all, WWD.com is reporting that the childrenswear line will "reflect [Alber] Elbaz's ultrasophisticated approach, including fabrics that could cost as much as 10 times as those normally used for children's apparel." Wow!
Thierry Andretta, Executive Vice President of Lanvin is saying, "It's a way to translate the universe of Lanvin ready-to-wear to the world of kids... We really want to stay in the luxury world." And not only will the line be costly, it will be tough to get your hands on it. They're offering it to only about 20% of Lanvin's wholesale customers. It will also be sold at Lanvin flagship stores in major cities.
What do you think of a Lanvin Children's clothing line? On the one hand, I want to say, "omg so cute, I can't wait to see!" But on the other hand, I think it's ridiculous to buy growing kids luxury designer clothing. An adult buying a Lanvin piece will keep it forever. But a kid will grow out of it in six months. I can't wait to see who's buying Lanvin kids' clothing!
