Laura Ling Is Resting After Arriving in States

Laura Ling and Euna Lee have been taking it easy after coming back to the United States, and it makes perfect sense why. The American journalists, officially pardoned on Tuesday, had been sentenced to 12 years hard labor and finally touched down in the U.S. after former President Bill Clinton went through negotiations with North Korean leader Kim Jong II.

Laura Ling's sister, Lisa Ling, said that "My sister is absolutely exhausted and just resting." It turns out that she wasn't just happy to be home for the obvious reasons (um, freedom?), but for the food. Laura Ling's first meal was a "special herbal Chinese soup" that her mother prepared at 3 in the morning for her arrival.

"She was telling us how there were rocks in her rice [in North Korea]," Lisa Ling commented.

"This is kind of an unprecedented situation and we have completely drawn support from so many people," Lisa Ling told the press. "We are so especially appreciative of our government who really came to the rescue."

Here's to Euna Lee's and Laura Ling's release--and rice without rocks in it.
