Lauren Conrad Helps Collect Trash, Make a Difference

Goooo, Lauren! The faded reality show star might not be quite relevant now that she's designing for Kohl's but is out of the spotlight, but this pic of her with a banana peel reminded me that she's still giving back. . . when she's not busy writing her third book, that is.

Lauren lended a hand this past weekend to the Coastal Cleanup efforts, which resulted in a whopping 150 tons of trash being removed from the LA coast. Volunteers fanned across beaches from Malibu to Long Beach wearing disposable gloves and carrying huge sacks for garbage.

How can Lauren Conrad look so relaxed and perky when she's scuttling about on the beach scooping up garbage? She might not be on The Hills any more, but she's still got appeal.

Weird items found along the beach included an artificial skull, severed goat's head, a urinal, and a fake mustache. Yuck!
