Letterman's Former Mistress On Paid Leave From CBS
Was Stephanie Birkitt banned from CBS?
Security sources have been cited revealing that former David Letterman mistress Stephanie Birkitt, 34, has been banned from Ed Sullivan Theater where The Late Show with David Letterman is filmed.
Other sources are weighing in saying Birkitt wasn't banned per se, but indeed she's off work on paid leave of absence. Birkitt has been an employee on CBS for over a decade, serving multiple roles (ahem, sorry) on The Late Show as well as a stint at 48 Hours, where it's said she met her recent ex-boyfriend, producer Joe Halderman.
Halderman was the perpetrator of the extortion plot against David Letterman that held Letterman to $2 million dollars or the exposure of Letterman's affair with Birkitt. Since Letterman stepped forward to announce the affair on air last Thursday, he has tried to make light of the scandal but has shared that wife Regina Lasko is indeed "horribly hurt."
