Lil' Wayne and Katie Couric Interview - It's Gangsta
"Gangstas don't ask questions."
People give Katie Couric a lot of grief, but the woman is a true professional. From handling Sarah Palin with way more grace and dignity than the situation called for, to this amazing interview with rapper/troll Lil' Wayne, she's got more interviewing skill than I have articles about Jessica Simpson.
And that's a lot.
Katie sat down to interview Lil' Wayne, and things got a little emotional when Wayne opened up about his absentee father, Hurricane Katrina, and his self-perception (see sub-headline).
The entire interview actually plays more like a therapy session than a pre-Grammy interview, Katie nodding sympathetically as Wayne intensely tells her - in all seriousness - that "I'm a gangsta, gangstas don't ask questions," and "I'm a gangsta, I do what I want."
That last one is my new catchphrase.
