Lily Allen announced her first pregnancy in December 2007 with then-boyfriend Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers. One month later news broke that Allen had miscarried her baby, and insiders said she suffered massive depression for weeks afterward.
By 2009 it appeared as though Lily Allen had recovered from the trauma of her miscarriage and her subsequent breakup from Simons. By that summer she'd begun dating an upscale London decorator named Sam Cooper, and in August 2010 Lily Allen announced via the following statement that she and Cooper were expecting a baby together: "Lily Allen and Sam Cooper are very happy to confirm that Lily is expecting their first child." According to People.com, Lily had also tweeted a photo of herself holding up a newspaper with her baby news on the cover.

Less than two weeks ago on Oct. 20 word got out that Lily Allen revealed her baby's gender: it's a boy! But sadly by November 1, her rep was speaking out to announce that for the second time, Lily Allen and her baby had suffered a miscarriage:
"It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby ... The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made."
Lily Allen didn't seem to have commented on her miscarriage except for this tweet on Saturday, Oct. 30: "Say a little prayer."
While we're waiting on more details, it's possible Allen's work was too demanding for her pregnancy health. When her pregnancy was announced, Allen had specified that she wouldn't take time off work despite her pre-maternal condition, stating via her rep, "Lily's professional commitments will carry on as normal, including a scheduled performance at the Big Chill this weekend." However Lily later seemed to notice that motherhood would require her to change her schedule as more recently she stated that she wanted to be a "hands-on mum" and not take her children on the road. Allen's also been known for saying motherhood was "ultimately my main goal" in life.
