Lily Allen confirmed her second miscarriage Monday, as we'd told you in a breaking report. We now have some background on what may have caused Lily Allen to miscarry her son, whose delivery was expected in January.

We told you that after she announced her pregnancy last August, Lily Allen refused to slow down her tour schedule. But on Saturday, Oct. 30, Lily left Elton John high and dry at a benefit he hosted, where she was all set to perform. It's said Lily addressed a formal statement that included an apology to the legendary pianist telling him that she had to unexpectedly pull out of performing, and at the last minute Elton was forced to step in and take the mike in front of his hundreds of guests.

Meanwhile what the public didn't know what that Lily Allen had been suffering from a nasty viral infection, and early in the weekend she'd suddenly begun suffering severe stomach cramps. We told you that on Saturday she'd tweeted to her 2.4 million followers, "Say a little prayer." Indeed the UK's "Daily Mail" is now confirmed that cryptic tweet as a message to her fans that all was not well with her pregnancy. It's reported doctors "tried desperately" to save Allen's baby, but in the end they were unsuccessful.
As we've awaited details surrounding Lily Allen's miscarriage, celebrities have spoken out to extend their well wishes to Lily. Danii Minogue said, "Love and prayers for Lily Allen," and former Spice Girl Emma Bunton tweeted, "Thinking of Lily Allen and her partner at this very sad time. Sending them lots of love."
