Biography
Kourtney Mary Kardashian was born in Los Angeles on April 18, 1979 to Robert Kardashian and Kris Houghton Jenner. Robert Kardashian became famous when he defended O.J. Simpson during his murder trial. When Kardashian was 10, her parents split up. Two years later, her mother Kris married Bruce Jenner, the former Olympian. The two are still married today. Robert Kardashian died on September 20, 2003 of esophageal cancer.
Kardashian has several siblings: Kim, Khloe, and Robert born also to Robert and Kris; Kendall, Kylie, Burt, Brandon, and Brody Jenner, all half siblings. In addition, Kardashin has one stepsister, Casey Jenner.
While Kardashian is most known for her E! reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it was not her first foray into reality television. She made her television debut in 2005 on E!'s Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive which was a reality show featuring the children of celebrities living in a small town in Colorado and working on a cattle ranch. The show premiered on August 7, 2005 and was produced by Justin Berfield and Joe Simpson.
Kardashian, along with her sisters and mom, owns a clothing boutique in Calabasas, California called Dash. There is also a location in Miami, Florida.
Two years later, in 2007, E! debuted a new reality show called Keeping Up With the Kardashians that featured the daily lives of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Kris Kardashian. While the show began mainly focused on Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have become more prominent in the show. The show is still in production today.
In 2009, Kardashian and her sister Khloe got their own spin-off reality show on E!, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. It debuted in August 2009 and received positive reviews and big audience.
In August 2009, Kardashian revealed she was pregnant. The father is boyfriend Scott Disick. They dated for several months in 2008 and early 2009 before breaking up in February. The two reconnected a few months into her pregnancy and are still dating. Kardashian has been open about her struggle with deciding whether to keep the baby and how she broke the news to her sister and mom. She is excited and due in December.
