Biography
Kristin Elizabeth Cavallari was born in Denver, Colorado on January 5, 1987. She has one sibling, older brother Michael. Cavallari lived in Colorado with her family until her parents divorced and she moved with her mom to a suburb of Chicago, Illinois while her brother moved with her father to Laguna Beach, California. In Illinois, Cavallari didn't get along with her new stepfather and stepbrother so she decided to join her brother and father in Laguna Beach.
After attending Santa Margarita Catholic High School for her freshman year, Cavallari transferred to Laguna Beach High School. It was during her junior year that MTV started filming Laguna Beach: the Real Orange County at her school. At the time, she was dating senior Stephen Colletti. Her relationship with Colletti and the love triangle caused by senior girl Lauren Conrad also liking Stephen, became a main plotline in the reality show.
Cavallari stayed on Laguna Beach for two seasons. During her time on the show, she battled with Lauren Conrad over Stephen and in season two was portrayed as the leader of a clique at school. She did not return for season three.
Once her stint on Laguna Beach wrapped up, Cavallari entered Loyola Marymount University for a short time. She left when she was offered a hosting job on the UPN show Get This Party Started. Unfortunately, after just two episodes, the series was canceled due to low ratings.
In 2006, Cavallari guest-starred in a Veronica Mars episode and was cast in the thriller Fingerprints with Lou Diamond Phillips. She also starred in two music videos: Teddy Greiger's For You I Will and Gavin DeGraw's In Love With a Girl. In 2007, Cavallari guest-starred on the short-lived ABC series Cane. 2008 brought a role in the movie Green Flash with David Charvet and guest spot on CSI: NY.
In 2009, Cavallari starred in three films: Spring Breakdown with Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch, Wild Cherry with Rumor Willis, and Van Wilder: Freshman Year which went straight to DVD.
This was also the year Cavallari confirmed she would be joining the cast of The Hills. She made a brief appearance in the season five finale and joined the MTV reality show as a main character in its sixth season. She is still currently on the show after signing on for two seasons.
Cavallari's love life is closely followed by the weekly tabloids. She's been linked to reality TV star Brody Jenner, singer Nick Lachey, NFL quarterback Matt Leinhart, and actor Nick Zano.
