Lou Ferrigno Talks About Training Michael Jackson
Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno spoke last night about his private training sessions with Michael Jackson - and insisted: "I'd never seen him look better." Muscleman Lou, a two time Mr Universe, was helping Jacko work-out to get in shape for his grueling series of shows in London.
And the stunned actor insisted he left him no doubt that he was ready for his massive headline-grabbing comeback. "When he moved he convinced me that he was going to make the biggest come back in history," Lou said. "He was great. I trained him on and off for 15 years and when I saw him a few months ago, the way he moved - I'd never seen him look better." Lou insisted Jacko "never" said anything about being in pain, adding: "As a matter of fact sometimes he would be dancing, showing me the moves, between the sets, our exercising, and he convinced me, I said: 'This guy can pull it off'. "When I saw him he was not frail." Asked if news of the star's death left him 'shocked', Ferrigno said: "Devastated. Extremely devastated. "I just wish this was a dream. We were close friends. "He trusted me. We had the camaraderie because both of us came from difficult childhood, we had the same kind of fathers, so we were very connected. "His escape was music, my escape was bodybuilding. It's funny how we both became extremists. Music was his escape. Lou said his last training session with Jackson was at the end of May, before the former Hulk star had commitments out of California. "I was planning to train him for a few more sessions before he went to England," he said. Asked if there was 'any sign of drug use', Ferrigno stated firmly: "No." He added: "Well I don't know anything about his personal life, and the last month I don't know what happened, but the time I was with him he seemed fine. "No pain at all."
