MTV Hosts A Night For The Vets
Taking care of the soldiers who take care of our country
Tonight at 8pm, MTV will air "A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE". The cross-network special features reporting from both MTV and CNN and performances by 50 Cent, Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, and others. Beyoncé, Will Ferrell, and Jennifer Hudson are some of the celebs who are scheduled to appear.
The goal of the show is to raise awareness about the issues veterans face--education, employment, health care, and homelessness--when they return home. The concert takes its name from the BRAVE petition (Bill of Rights for American Veterans), which was created with the help of veterans' organizations and which calls for quick passage of legislation to help veterans.
"It doesn't matter where you stand on the war --we can all agree that young veterans serving our country must receive the benefits they've earned for their sacrifices," said MTV President Van Toffler.
