Mad Men Costume Designer To Launch Own Line
Forget Chuck Bass Fridays - how about Mad Men EVERYDAY?!
Finally! Phase three of Operation Marry Don Draper is underway - dress like Betty Draper.
That's right, Janie Bryant, the mastermind behind the fabulous Mad Men costuming is in the process of designing her own line. I think. She's being very coy and allusive, but it's sounds like she's got something up her sleeve.
"I’m working on some things right now…I hate to be so mysterious but I can't really say! It would have my name attached to it though."
Um, YES. This couldn't happen fast enough. I can practically see the high waisted skirts and equestrian influenced skinny pants hanging in my closet already.
Bryant, who designs close to 200 costumes per episode (not including the looks she creates for all the extras) has proven to be an incredible fashion influence. Designers like Michael Kors and Thom Browne have acknowledged that her work on the show inspired their own collections. Not bad.
So get ready, girls. A new era of Mad Men is almost upon us.
