Maggie Gyllenhaal's Vibrator Comedy
New gig for Maggie!
Maggie Gyllenhaal's going to be starring in an interesting new movie, one that any indie-film lover can appreciate. To summarize her new project, it'll be full of "good vibrations," but set in a time when that song didn't even exist. Keep on reading!
Maggie's new role for Hysteria will be as the daughter of a doctor in Victorian England. The indie film is actually being billed as a rom-com (interesting), and Maggie's father, the doctor, will be treating cases of hysteria with his new vibrator invention. ("Female hysteria" really was treated with a vibrator, by the way, among other things.)

I feel like we'll soon be revisiting Maggie's breakout sexy role in The Secretary, which was an S&M romp back in 2002 worth watching. Will she deliver again? This sounds like the kind of role she loves, since she's best in indie films when she can get as weird as she wants.
Are you a Maggie fan? When I watch her films, I find myself thinking about how sad her face looks, with eyes and a mouth that naturally turn down. She has a sort of naughty vibe that also pops up, and this one, with a sexy theme, is a great chance for her to bring that to the table.
Are you game for this vibrator comedy?
