Attract a Mate Post-Haste

Are you looking to find someone online? if you've been fishing without much success (perhaps even getting your complementary Match.com profile extension), it could be time to give the old profile a once-over. Here's what the experts suggest.

When you start updating your profile, have a glance at the tone. It should sound like you, so write as you talk and make your profile sound more personable, warm, and inviting. That being said, proceed with caution when it comes to jokes. Don't start flinging them around every which way, because they can easily be misconstrued or thought of as distasteful.

Spell check your profile to eradicate messy errors while still staying within your comfort zone. Don't utilize the thesaurus unless absolutely necessary, and if you can do it, have a friend read through to make sure it's honest, true to you, and not at all demanding (must have green eyes, be skinny, and be rich).

Have you ever written an online dating profile? What's the biggest mistake you've ever seen someone make in one?
