Mark-Paul Gosselaar Got Stoned with His Mom (VIDEO, POLL)
Franklin & Bash Star Talks Family Hash
We always knew Zack Morris was hiding some trouble beneath his sweet exterior. This week while promoting his new Law & Order-meets-Entourage series Franklin & Bash, Gosselaar got honest about how he spent one very trippy family outing.
We remember Saturday morning TV cutie Mark-Paul Gosselaar as the giant cell phone-carrying, sweet-talking Zack Morris from Saved By the Bell. But what made Morris' character so lovable was the fact that he always seemed to hide some sneaky, naughty side.
Now 37, Gosselaar admits that indeed he hasn't always been an angel, but fortunately he didn't have to try to get away with trouble behind his family's back. In fact, he told George Lopez this week, he actually got high once in the company of his mother.
Gosselaar's parents both hail from the Netherlands, so George Lopez had some clue that the Gosselettes may have been raised rather liberally: "So being Dutch, they're very liberal when it comes to herbal," Lopez suggested.
"Yeah, they like to get high," Gosselaar answered. "When you're in Holland or Amsterdam ... you go to a hash bar, order your coffee [and some marijuana] ... I think the the last time I was in Amsterdam, I was 18 with my mother and we got high together. "She'll deny it," Gosselaar continued, "but she got f----- up!"
But Gosselaar insisted that despite the fact he's always played goody-goody characters with a secret bad-boy side, he wasn't exactly raised around substances like weed. In fact, Gosselaar claimed, he's not a pothead at all. "It's a 'When you're in Rome' kinda thing," Gosselaar said about his family's sometimes-penchant for pot. Take our poll: does this make Zack Morris cuter?
