Martha Stewart Tweets "I'm Not Drunk"

Martha likes her wine.

Some people just weren't meant to be on Twitter. Take Martha Stewart for example. The woman has created such an overly-doting, craftsy persona that anything she tweets is either hard to take seriously... or just sounds like she's off her rocker.

Stewart, 69, was at some dinner party in New York on Tuesday night when she let loose a flurry of tweets that slowly began to sound as if she had had one too many chardonnays.

"Come now to the New York Botanic gardens for cocktails in the ms herb garden i will be here - tix still available at the entrance," she wrote early in the day.

Then: "I really want to know if you are finding our new tv programming on hallmark. Let $e know."

Stewart, whose talk show Martha is reportedly struggling for viewership now that it's moved to the Hallmark Channel, seemed to be trying to get folks talking about her program. But it just ended up sounding like drunkenness.

"Forgive the typo!!$ odd how that happens but tweeting on a blackberry in the dark is difficult the programs start at 10 am e, 9 am central," she wrote.

And then: "Should the whatever girls sit on stools, a couch or chairs on their new program on hallmark?? should alexis change her hair style everyday??should jennifer always wear black stockings?"

Of course, that's when Twitter users sniffed a potential celebrity meltdown, and they began retweeting her posts with the promise that Stewart had been drinking and that she didn't know what she was saying any longer.

That forced the business magnate to set the record straight.

"i am not drunk-just curious if i can get some action going on twitter time to write my editor's letter now."

So is Martha really a booze-hound, or was this just a case of over-excitement with a blackberry? Until the next tweet...
