Oh Fashion, you kooky beast. Only you would create - and expect women to purchase - a designer handbag that looks like something that'd get thrown in the trash.

Designer label Jil Sander just unveiled its Fall-Winter 2012 line and it includes a $290 purse that looks just like a lunch bag. And it's not even leather! It's made from what's being referred to as "high durability coated paper." It also features metal seams and, of course, the Jil Sander logo. You know, just so no one confuses it with a plebian lunch bag.

And if you want the uber-designer model, the black version of the bag will set you back a whopping $630.

Fashion critics, of course, are eating it up (pun intended). W magazine says it's "turning the necessary into an indulgence" and that the bag is "a keeper."

That may be true, but we're still not putting our turkey sandwich in it.
