Owner Changed Pup's Name to Avoid a Complex

And I thought that the American tiny dog was ridiculous! Scooter, a Maltese puppy, is three inches tall and under eight inches in length (nose to tail), and owner Cheryl McKnight from New Zealand says that's he's stopped growing. Will Scooter scoop up the "World's Smallest Pup" prize? Time will tell.

Originally named Pee Wee, Scooter looks small even when placed next to a teacup. Scooter eats out of an egg cup, sleeps in a shoe box, and wears a sweater fashioned from a sock.

"He's so much a part of my life these days - and to think at one stage I almost gave him away," McKnight said to The Daily Mail. The one problem? It's impossible to take Scooter for a walk, not just due to the danger of being dwarfed by everything, but the fact that one stroll would "take all day."
