Melrose Place Premiere: Did You Watch?

The season premiere of Melrose Place on Tuesday night didn't do quite as well as was expected. But were you watching? We were pretty thrilled that you didn't have to actually watch the original Melrose Place (or remember it) to understand the new series.

Of course, we had to tune in, if for no reason other than to check out Ashlee Simpson in the new Melrose Place series. She didn't have too huge of a role in the first episode, but Ashlee already might be a murder suspect. OK, so all the characters in the series might be murder suspects already. Sydney dies (again) and it seems like everyone might have a little bit of a motive for having done it.

Looks to us like this is going to be a season-long (at least) mystery. And it's kind of convenient because it the they find out the series is getting canceled, they can easily wrap up the mystery whenever need be. Or they can just keep it going. We just hope Ashlee Simpson gets a big larger of a role in the coming episodes because we can't wait to see what kind of character she turns into.

We hear that Melrose Place gets even better next week, so maybe more people will be turning in. We'll be interested to see how long this series lasts!
