Michael Douglas Will "Stand Up 2 Cancer"
Organizes a telethon.
I've been tough on Michael Douglas in the past, but no longer. The actor was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, and instead of disappearing from the public eye, he's hustling to raise funds for people with cancer. That's how you do it, Michael!

Michael Douglas having stage IV cancer means that it has spread beyond the throat, where it originated, to the lips and mouth. That means more treatments, chemo, and surgery for most patients, so it's amazing that Michael Douglas is still pursuing particular promotional activities in addition to this new telethon on schedule.
Michael, who is promoting Wall St. 2, will be participating in a September 10th telethon from New York City. He won't be alone, either, with stars like George Clooney, Renee Zellweger, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Lance Armstrong supporting him.
If you're curious how much you'll think they're going to make, the last Stand Up 2 Cancer drive made $100 million in 2008. It's just one hour on September 10th, on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, and more!

In other news, Catherine Zeta-Jones is reportedly furious that it took so long for Michael Douglas to receive his diagnosis. He had a walnut-sized tumor, but doctors missed it multiple times.
"It makes me furious they didn't detect it earlier," Catherine Zeta-Jones said recently. "He sought every option and nothing was found."
We hope that Michael gets well soon, and that the Stand Up 2 Cancer drive goes marvelously. We're all pulling for you, Michael!
