Michael Douglas will begin shooting a new film in spring as he appears to take a huge step in conquering cancer. We have the details on Douglas' upcoming role, along with his comments on why now's the time to get back to work.
Michael Douglas, 66, prepared audiences for his good news when he stepped out in Disney World for a tanned and smiling family Thanksgiving. Photos suggest that Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are now looking toward Douglas' wellness, as they and their children struck thrilled poses on rollercoasters and wore happy faces to stand alongside Disney characters.

Indeed Michael Douglas is getting better, as a report Tuesday morning revealed that he'll learn in January whether his throat cancer has been eliminated. In the meantime, Douglas has just announced that he will indeed begin filming for the title role in Steven Soderbergh's "Liberace," a film about the flamboyant pianist that will reportedly begin filming in May or June. Douglas signed on to the film in 2008, and it's been reported that Matt Damon will play Liberace's longtime lover.
Michael Douglas said this week that his cancer presented "a long road" to recovery, but he's determined to get back to work. As for Douglas' loved ones, he says, "This has definitely made them even stronger."
