Michael Moore Free Of Charge!
The Slacker Uprising will now take place online.
Michael Moore is cheap and easy. The documentary filmmaker has decided to release his new film, Slacker Uprising, online for FREE. The doc, which follows Moore as he travels to 62 cities during the 2004 election, is the first major film to be released online for FREE. (If you can't tell, we really love free stuff).
Moore's film focus this time around is the youth vote. He acknowledges the film is for democrats (shocker!), but says he hopes the movie will get young people to the polls this November. The decision to air the movie for FREE was also inspired by the upcoming 20th anniversary of Moore's first documentary, Roger & Me.
"I thought it'd be a nice way to celebrate my 20th year of doing this. And also help get out the vote for November. I've been thinking about what I want to do to help with the election this year." --Michael Moore
Starting September 23, the movie will be available as a free download (for three weeks) through BlipTV. To get the download, and more info, head to SlackerUprising.com.
