Michael Moore's 'Capitalism: A Love Story'
Love means never having to say you're sorry.
Michael Moore loves to stir the pot. In past films like Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 911, the director has taken on various politicians and got into confrontations with CEOs and NRA members. Now, in his new film Capitalism: A Love Story, Moore sets his sights on the American economy.
In the film, Moore focuses on the American financial crisis from 2007-2009, as well as the transition from Bush's administration to Obama's and the subsequent stimulus package.
Moore then takes his familiar schtick to the streets and confronts politicians (on both sides of the aisle) as to how America dug such a hole for itself. At one point, as is shown in the film's trailer, Moore even attempts to make a citizen's arrest of the board of directors at insurance giant AIG.
So far the film has received rave reviews. Critic Emmanuel Levy calls Moore's film "timely, evocative and entertaining," while Variety labeled it one of Moore's "best films."
So regardless of which side of the political spectrum you fall on, you have to admit that this film will at least get people talking about important things. Go see it, then go home and argue. After all, it's a free country.
