Michelle Obama Posts Her First Twitter Message

At the White House Correspondents Assocation Dinner Saturday night, Justin Bieber, Jay Leno and Kim Kardashian were hardly the big story. Instead, First Lady Michelle Obama published her first tweet with permission from the White House's Press Secretary...check it out!
When Jay Leno asked CNN writer Ed Henry whether he was tweeting at the dinner table, Henry confessed that indeed he was. Michelle Obama, who was sitting close by, divulged that she had never tweeted before. Ed Henry wanted to change that instantly, and asked the White House's Press Secretary Robert Gibbs if it was okay for the First Lady to post a tweet on Henry's page!
Gibbs said it was fine for Michelle Obama to tweet, but still Mrs. Obama was wary. Ed Henry posted, "i am trying to coax First Lady to do her first ever tweet. Gibbs @presssec just gave his blessing." Finally, Michelle Obama said yes to the tweet and took Ed Henry's iPhone off his hands, but she couldn't figure out how to type. Henry told her he'd type if she dictated. In the end, here's what the First Lady said on Henry's Twitter:
"from flotus: 'here at dinner this is officially my first Tweet. i am looking forward to some good laughs from the potus and jay'"
Ed Henry reports that President Obama saw what was happening and said, "What's going on?" Michelle Obama explained that she sort of wanted to tweet, but she sort of didn't want to, and was it okay for the First Lady to tweet, and then the President waved his hand as if to say, Just do it.
