Where's PETA when we need them?

We reported Monday that with Groundhog Day approaching (today!) PETA was after the Pennsylvania groundhog organization that cares for Punxsutawney Phil. Turns out Phil is treated like a little king...Miley Cyrus' new puppy, however, appears to be a different story.

Just last week our friends at Celebuzz reported that Miley Cyrus had bought a new puppy named Mate in an attempt to improve her public image. Her audience -- especially the adult set -- appear to be growing increasingly exhausted and disgusted of Miley Cyrus and her insensitive off-stage antics that make vulnerable parties even more vulnerable (the slanted eyes making fun of some Asians, the alleged alcohol at her 17th birthday party in December, and loads of other irreverent acts).

So Miley Cyrus continues to grow into the celebrity many people love to hate...and when they see this puppy pic, it's going to get worse. Looks like the same person who taught Miss Miley how to be famous also taught her how to hold a dog. Hey Miley, how about a little respect for your Mate? This poor little guy looks in pain.
