Hemp, eh?
.

Miss Vermont is certainly representing.

Ashley Ruth Wheeler, the reigning beauty from the maple syrup state (we made that up), has just announced that her gown for the Miss America Pageant is entirely eco-friendly and made from hemp, organic cotton, and silk.

How Vermonty of her. Will she weave it on her loom on her family's dairy farm? We hope so.

Maybe all contestants should wear garments representing their state. Wisconsin could indulge in some cheese couture and Florida might be able to whip up an orange rind bolero. What? It's better than watching beauty queens play the flute or juggle.

Catch Ash in her hippie, hemp frock on January 24.
