Vergara told Health.com, "Having cancer is not fun. You don't want to deal with anything else while you're going through it."
She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer early, after taking her son to an endocrinologist who wanted to check her as well -- "and he found a lump in my neck."
Since she never had any symptoms, Vergara said it was a bit confusing: "I never felt sick ... You want to be treated when you're feeling sick, when you're uncomfortable."
