Morgan Freeman Court Date Set For Next Year
A woman who is suing Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman, 72, will have to wait a year to get her day in court. Demaris Meyer of Memphis, Tennessee, sued Freeman last February, alleging he is to blame him for a car accident that seriously injured both herself and Freeman.
A date for trial has now been set for August 9, 2010, in Oxford. Freeman was driving Meyer's car when it left the road and flipped several times near his Mississippi Delta home on Aug. 3, 2008. He denies he is at fault in the accident. Freeman won an Oscar for his performance in 2004's Million Dollar Baby. He appeared in The Dark Knight and is known for The Shawshank Redemption and Driving Miss Daisy among others.
